FAQ’s

Why do these Woodgrain Kits cost more?

They are the most authentic reproduction set to be produced since Buick discontinued the OEM product. All of the other products on the market make claims of originality but unfortunately fall short in one way or another.

Are there installation instructions available?

Yes, installation instructions and helpful tips are available on this website. Just click on this link:

Why are these offered in Two (2) Sizes –“Aftermarket” or “Original” ?

From my experience all the other woodgrain inserts in the market are sized to fit the original dashboard bezel housings that came with these cars from the factory. Unfortunately, by now most of those original housings are worn out and in need of replacement. Fortunately, there is at least one new aftermarket bezel housing available (GM Parts Place) which in my opinion is of very good quality. During my restoration project I found out that this new aftermarket bezel is slightly different in size where the woodgrain inserts go. It just makes sense to provide two sizes so that no trimming is required to make it fit.

What is included in the kit?

The kit includes six (6) woodgrain inserts & two Special Isopropyl Alcohol Wipes to clean the surface before application to obtain maximum adhesion.

How are these shipped if I order online? Do you mail them in a simple envelope that can be damaged?

No. Each set is shipped in a very strong custom made wooden box to protect it during transit. The box is sized to fit in the smallest USPS flat rate box to help minimize shipping costs.

Are these like the originals which can get the color scratched off of the surface?

No, these inserts have all the colors on the backside so that they can’t get scratched off. They do however, have a clear finish on the front surface which can be scratched so please use care when handling. They are fine to touch by finger tips as intended.

How do you clean them?

A soft cloth dampened with water is recommended. I have also used Windex on a paper towel with no issues.
